Become Ungovernable

Almost all the internet users that Pirate rely on torrent trackers to find new and old releases.

Trackers become the single point of failure since if they are taken down, you can’t get the meta-data needed to download your favorite show.

What if you can get magnet links directly from the DHT network?

Recently, I found the Bitmagnet project that looks really promising, even tho it’s still in its alpha stage.

Heading on the index page pretty much sums up the purpose of the software:

A self-hosted BitTorrent indexer, DHT crawler, content classifier and torrent search engine with web UI, GraphQL API and Servarr stack integration.

If you leave Bitmagnet running for a couple of months, it will index the entire DHT network, which will result in a ~200GB postgres db (at the time of writing).

You will end up with 18-19 million browsable torrents at your disposal. Mind you that most of them can have 0 seeders or questionable content.

Become your own torrent tracker, become ungovernable.
